have been in the candle business since 1998. Originally, we started off
selling other companies’ candles from a brick and mortar store in Chester,
NJ called The Candle Barn. The idea for manufacturing our own candles
didn’t come to us until late 1999 and was spawned from the constant
requests we received from our customers who wanted to purchase unscented
candles in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors, for both personal use
(because they were sensitive or even allergic to fragrances, but still
wanted to enjoy candles) and from brides who wanted to use candles on
their reception tables and didn’t want the fragrance to interfere with the
aromas of the food. As we sought to satisfy our customers’ demands, we became conscious of the fact that there were no real vendors out there from whom we could source the high quality unscented candles we were looking for. Hence, our quest to create such a product began from our humble home. We converted first one room, then a second for manufacturing, plus our garage for supplies storage and thus began our adventure into the world of candle manufacturing. Sparked by the increasing interest in online shopping, we decided to move our operations from a brick and mortar store to an address on the World Wide Web…first with TheCandleBarn.com and finally with our current website, NJCandle.com. It wasn’t until late 2001 when the business began showing real promise that we realized it was no longer feasible to continue to work out of such a small space and leased our first "real" manufacturing space, a 3500 sq. ft. unit, and hired our very first employees. Well, as they say, the rest is history…we have continued to grow by leaps and bounds, and although at times it’s been challenging, to say the least, we’ve managed to not be deterred by the bumps in the road and continue on our quest to provide our customers with the very best in quality unscented candles, at incredibly low prices and, always, most importantly, service with a smile. Most of our competitors’ less desirable candles are machine pressed white cores over dipped in an outer color layer. We manufacture paraffin wax candles that are colored throught and contain only lead-free wicks. Our candles are available in round and square shaped pillars, both solid-colored and our new "granite-like" mottled look, and most are available in 2", 3", and 4" diameters and height ranges of 3", 4", 6" and 9", with a few specialty candles available in a 12" height. Votives are available in 15-hour tapered style. Most candles are available in an array of 49 spectacular colors.
